JC Williams

JC Site Pic (1)Having been snapped up by Gerd’s on-point 4LUX label, as well as continued output on his home label, Extended Play; JC Williams (real name John Craig) is trailblazing ahead with his raw and analogue driven strain of house and techno. Having cut his teeth at Belfast techno institution, Shine, where he was a 4 year resident, and something of a local hero, Williams’ initial exposure to electronic music was through DJ sets from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Laurent Garnier and Derrick May, all of which is evident in his current stylings.

Sharing bills with Richie Hawtin, Booka Shade and Slam through his inimitable residency at Shine and Shine sister club, The Stiff Kitten JC Williams cemented himself as a firm local favourite, before finding himself as a resident at Belfast afterhours hotspot Yello, where  he regularly played extended sets until 6am. It was here that the JC Williams trademark sound came together, drawing strong influences from the chicago house and detroit techno of yesterday brought firmly in line with the sounds of today.
